"Anticipating" was the first (and only) special "test release" for Jive Records, catering specific album tracks to specific countries, to maximise airplay and exposure. The 80s influenced track was released exclusively in France, becoming one of Britney's biggest hits there, reaching #38 in the singles chart, and having a set of exclusive remixes on 12" vinyl. The track was promoted using the "Dream Within A Dream" tour live performance of the song, from "Live From Las Vegas," as the music video.
