Having given Britney a massive #1 hit in "Toxic," Bloodshy & Avant were Britney's producers of choice for her cover of Bobby Brown's 1989 hit, "My Prerogative," the lead single from her first greatest hits collection. Having received criticism for her marriage to Kevin Federline a few months previous, the lyrics to the track were incredibly apt. "My Prerogative" hit #3 in the UK and Germany, but unfortunately US radio once again failed to pick up on the single, where it charted at #101, missing the Hot 100.
