It was never intended that "Do Somethin'" be released as a single, but Britney decided she wanted to make a video for the track. Directed by Britney herself (under the alias, Mona Lisa), alongside Billy Woodruff, her label decided to release the track outside the US and Canada to further promote the album, with it entering at #6 in the UK. MTV USA playlisted the video, which led to fans of the song legally downloading it, sales from which were now included in the Billboard Hot 100, causing it to enter at #100.
