As part of her first major sponsorship deal with Herbal Essences (they signed on to sponsor and help promote Britney's "(You Drive Me) Crazy" tour in late 1999 to early 2000), promotional CDs were made to promote the partnership. The CDs were available to fans at special retailers as part of the campaign, and feature the international "...Baby One More Time" bonus track, "Deep In My Heart" (previously unavailable in the USA), interview snippets and tracks from other Jive Records acts, such as Steps.

The two most successful pop acts joined forces for a McDonalds campaign, as Britney joined her labelmates, *NSync in a promotional deal with the fast-food restaurant. As part of the deal, both Britney and *NSync appeared in television commercials, and an exclusive CD and VHS, entitled "Your #1 Requests... And More" was distributed at McDonalds, the CD featuring 4 tracks from Britney (3 previously unavailable in the USA) and 4 from her labelmates, *NSync, and the VHS including the "Born To Make You Happy" music video.

The world's largest Internet Service Provider, AOL, picked the world's biggest superstar, Britney Spears, for the launch of their brand new AOL service, AOL Version 7.0, in late 2001, cross-promoting their new service and Britney's third album, "Britney." Special promotional CD-ROMs, featuring a 1000 hours for 45 days free AOL service, and the latest installation of AOL, were available from the usual outlets, featuring an exclusive Britney behind-the-scenes video, the "Crossroads" trailer, and album snippets.

As "Britney" featured Britney's tracks featured in "Crossroads," a full soundtrack was not released; however participating cinemas in the USA gave away these promotional 6-track CDs, featuring 4 songs featured in the film which were not performed by Britney, such as "Shake It Fast" by Mystikal and "Girlfriend" by Matthew Sweet, as well as two remixes of Britney tracks that were previously unreleased in the USA - the JS16 remix of "Overprotected" and the karaoke version of "I Love Rock 'N' Roll"

For their new range of Vios cars, Toyota asked Britney to appear in adverts promoting the range across the country. Two special adverts were produced, both showcasing the car, and featuring Britney, using the track "Anticipating" (taken from her third album, "Britney") as the theme. The adverts were only shown in Taiwan, and a special promotional CD-Rom/VCD featuring both adverts in full, photo gallery (featuring the full set of promotional photos from the adverts) and press release, was sent to the media there.

2003 saw the launch of a new way of promoting new music to people by providing free 3" CDs in the lids of drinks containers purchased at restaurants and minimarts, pioneered by Sbarro with their Lidrock brand. Jive used this new format to promote "In The Zone" and "Me Against The Music" in late 2003, with disc 1 featuring album track, "Brave New Girl" as well as two songs by other artists, and disc 2 featuring the Bloodshy & Avant Chix remix of "Me Against The Music," without Madonna on vocals.

In her break from the music industry, Britney released a fragrance, entitled Curious, alongside a remix album and a new single to coincide with her TV show, "Curious," entitled "Someday (I Will Understand)." To promote the new fragrance with Elizabeth Arden, special promotional packs were released featuring an exclusive bonus CD, featuring the new CD, a remix by Hi-Bias, who were responsible for the popular "Everytime" remix, a new song from her TV show entitled "Mona Lisa," and the commercial.

The latest Elizabeth Arden campaign, to tie in with her successful 'The Circus Starring Britney Spears" tour, which hit North America, Europe and Australia in 2009, was a fresh new take on her successful Fantasy line, entitled Circus Fantasy, and to coincide, a special promotional CD was released when you purchased a 50ml bottle of the fragrance, available in the UK from Superdrug stores and various other fragrance retailers worldwide, featuring "Kill The Lights" and a special remix of "Circus."
