Kevin Talks About Countering Tabloids |
25th July 2006 |
Following Britney saying she would like to start her own magazine so she could publish 'the real deal' to counteract the constant rumours and lies in the tabloid press, Kevin has spoken to American magazine, "Steppin' Out" in more detail about the potential of such a publication. "It's not just us. Everybody has been lied about in the tabloids. Everybody has false truths and false images and false stuff perceived on them. Maybe not as much as me and my wife get. But everybody has it. I think a magazine like that would attract all the stars. I think they would want to go to that magazine and tell the truth! I'm not kidding. This is something we would like to do for real."

Britney To Attend Teen Choice Awards |
22nd July 2006 |
Britney is to attend the 2006 Teen Choice Awards, with her husband, Kevin Federline, on 20th August 2006. He will be performing his debut single, "Lose Control," at the ceremony, ahead of the releases of her debut album. "This is my first big event, and I need her support and I want her support. If she's feeling under the weather because of the baby, obviously she won't be able to be there. But she'll want to be there for me." He added that one of three duets he has recorded with Britney will appear on his album, "Playing With Fire." "It's not really a love song. It gives my point of view of how my family is and how tight my family is. People shouldn't believe what they're told about us. They should listen to what comes out of my mouth or my wife's mouth." As for their marriage, he says, "It's wonderful," and headlines suggesting otherwise are not true. "Even with the bad stuff, you go through it, and it just makes you love each other even more. In our case, at least." On the sex of their second child, he said, "We want to be surprised this time," adding that they knew the sex of Sean Preston 10 weeks before he was born.

"Harper's Bazaar" Interview |
20th July 2006 |
Three months before the birth of her second child, Britney Spears is looking forward, not back. This doesn’t mean, sadly, that she needn’t look behind her. Before she arrived at "Bazaar"’s New York cover shoot in late June, her driver had to circle the block several times to elude six paparazzi cars and bikes, one of which almost collided with her SUV, leaving Britney in tears. When she recently dyed her hair black, perhaps in an attempt to take the dogs off the scent, her publicists were flooded with calls asking, “But isn’t that bad for the baby?” (Note: It’s a vegetable dye.) At 24, Britney has lived more lives already than most of us ever will, and she has made the same mistakes we all do, except hers are magnified a thousand by an unforgiving lens. Full Interview

"Behold The Beauty Of The Tiger" |
19th July 2006 |
Britney has updated her official web site with the following message to fans: "Tiger! Tiger! Burning bright, In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye could frame thy fearful symmetry? - William Blake
In some ways, people are a lot like animals. We all hunger for the same things. Love, lust, danger, warmth and adventure. Like people, animals all have their own rhythm to life. I'm mesmerised by tigers. Their eyes, their stripes, their constant quest for survival. They almost have a sense of mysteriousness about them. They pull you in and make it difficult to look away. They make you wonder what is behind their gaze. A sense of eerie awe comes over you in their presence. The fear they give you when you pass them is stunning. Behold the beauty of the tiger."

"The National Enquirer" Issues Apology |
18th July 2006 |
In an unprecedented move, the British version of "The National Enquirer" magazine has issued an apology to Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, following constant reports that their marriage was over, and that they planned to divorce. Britney took the magazine to courts in Scotland, in a libel case, asking for a full printed apology in the magazine, but no cash damages. The formal apology states: "Contrary to what our articles may have suggested, we now accept that [Britney & Kevin's] marriage is not over, and that they are not getting divorced. We accept that the statements are without foundation, and apologise for any distress caused."

"Harper's Bazaar" Interview Extract |
13th July 2006 |
Britney told "Harper's Bazaar", that, despite being naked on the front cover of the magazine,"you don't feel the most beautiful all the time being pregnant." Whilst pregnancy is "empowering," she felt unprepared and "paranoid" first time round - but this time "I was like, I've just got to wing it. It was weird for me at first because of who I am. Wherever you go, they expect you to look a certain way. I'm not supposed to be this big huge pregnant superstar." She describes Sean Preston as a "rocker kid" and the inspiration for the line of baby clothes she's designing. "Hopefully, next year we'll have a fashion show, maybe at Disney World, She is also looking forward to returning to music, "After this baby," she says, "I'm going to get really intense with it." She "can't wait" to perform again, "but I really have to take my time and do it right and be safe," she says. "Actually, not that safe. When you perform, you have to be dangerous." She also plans to collaborate with Kevin. "I'm so proud of him," she says. "He's been working so hard on his album since I got pregnant with Preston. I'm so lucky. He's a doll; he's adorable." A new photograph from the shoot, which will be an alternate cover for subscribers, has been added to the photo gallery!
