According to reports, Akon revealed on "Much On Demand" that Britney contacted him to ask him to work on her upcoming album; he said he is definitely doing it and that he knows all it will take is a 'hot album' to put Britney back at the top.

Britney's manager, Larry Rudolph, has commented on reports she is receiving special treatment at rehab, saying, "she is getting no special treatment. She has a regular room, a regular routine. She is doing exceptionally well."

BritneySpears.com has a new holding page, featuring a 2003 photo of Britney, as featured in "Rolling Stone" magazine. The site still states it is "coming soon," but includes a link to the revamped store, fan club and e-mail list. Edit: It has since returned to the photograph of Britney morphing into a tiger, complete with tiger roaring sound effects.

According to reports, sources say doctors at the Promises rehab facility, where Britney is staying, believe the underlying reason for her recent trouble may be post-partum depression, as opposed to substance abuse, as has been widely reported. The source says that it is believed she is either suffering from post-partum depression or bipolar disorder, with doctors strongly believing it is the former. The report says Britney is currently reading Brooke Shields' book, "Down Came The Rain," about post-partum depression; doctors believe the issue is complicated by "an intense feeling on her part that she has lost control of her life."

Lynn Spears has taken Britney's children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to see her at the Promises rehab centre, where she is undergoing treatment; they stayed for around 2 hours before returning to Kevin Federline.

Stars have been speaking out in defense of Britney, wishing her the best. Gwen Stefani said: "I would love to whisk her away from all her woes. I used to live in the same area for a while. I just want to schoop her up and give her a kiss. I hope she's all right. She's just had a new baby and stuff. I hope she can just enjoy it because it's an incredible thing." Bobby Brown said, "Hey sweetheart. You did 'My Prerogative' now it's your prerogative. Get the help you need if you need help. Do what's best for your babies, baby." Amy Lee of Evanescence said, "I am in no way going to endorse any kind of Britney bashing after everything she's been through. I know what it's like to feel manipulated, used, and helpless." Sean Garrett added, "She's getting her life together, getting it where it needs to be. She brought her kids to the studio and would spend quality time with her them between recording, playing with them and stuff. She loves her kids." Katharine McPhee said simply, "I still like you, Britney. I still like you."

Larry Rudolph has officially denied news reports that Britney Spears is on suicide watch in rehab. "The story is absolutely untrue. She is in rehab, and it is very disappointing that various media outlets are running these false stories about her, as Britney tries to get better." Britney is staying at the Promises rehab center in Malibu, after her mum took her there on Wednesday night.

Elizabeth Arden Inc. said it would continue to support Britney Spears and her perfume line, after a report said some fans may shun the fragrances after her recent negative publicity. "We have a long-standing and very successful relationship with Britney Spears. We care about her personally and remain completely supportive of her." Curious, which was launched in late 2004, was the first in the Britney Spears line and became an instant success; the latest, Midnight Fantasy, also got off to a strong start, the company said. Elizabeth Arden sales rose nearly 20%; the Britney Spears fragrance line brought double-digit gains.

Britney Spears' father, Jamie Spears, spoke exclusively to FOX News about his daughter, saying "[Britney] is a sick little girl... we're just trying to take care of her." Speaking from his Louisiana home, he added that he did not want to comment on the specifics of Britney's current situation, but added that the problems with Spears are "not about what other people think," and that he and her mum, Lynne Spears, are "concerned about our daughter."

Paparazzi photo agency, X17, reports that Britney went to Kevin Federline's house in the San Fernando Valley last night around 7pm and rang the bell at his gate three times with no answer; having been stalked by paparazzi, she grabbed an umbrella and hit out at X17 photographers, denting their car with the umbrella. It has been reported that Britney later met with Kevin and came to an agreement over their children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with Britney returning to the Promises rehab centre late last night, and Kevin's emergency custody hearing today being cancelled. TMZ.com reports that if Britney leaves rehab before getting full treatment, Kevin, who is currently looking after the children, will go to court seeking full custody immediately.

Accordng to reports, Britney's soon-to-be-ex-husband, Kevin Federline has asked a judge for an emergency hearing on Thursday to discuss his custody dispute for their two young children, Sean Preston and Jayden James. A court spokesperson says that only Kevin and his attorney are scheduled to appear before the judge, but adds "anything is possible." Federline filed papers in November seeking spousal support and sole custody; temporary court orders granted the couple joint custody.

Following paparazzi photographing her at the Promises residential treatment center in Malibu, California, Britney has been seen leaving the facility. According to reports, Britney was seen wearing her blonde wig with a brown hat at an office in West Hollywood (9119 Sunset Blvd, near the Chateau Marmont, where Britney is thought to be staying). She visited the law office of Barry Tarlows and Blair Berk (criminal and civil defense attorneys); Berk represented Reese Witherspoon in a case against paparazzi photographers, angry at having been photographed whilst at the private Promises rehab centre yesterday.

Britney is selling her £3.6million Beverly Hills mansion, that she purchased two months ago, according to "OK!" magazine, wishing to return to her Malibu house, as 16month Sean Preston preferred it there. According to reports, prior to going to the Roxy club on Sunday night, Britney spent time with her father, in an 'intense discussion' at a Cajun joint in California.

Britney's hair is up for sale at BuyBritneysHair.com with a minimum offer of $1,000,000 (£500,000) being accepted; any potential buyer is encouraged to go to Esther's Hair Salon in Tarzana, California, to collect the hair in person.

 
Britney stepped out last night for the first time since shaving her head, showing off a new blonde wig at the Roxy club on Sunset Boulevard, leaving the club around 1am and heading for the Beverly Hills Hotel. Britney's aunt Wanda spoke to the New York Daily Newsand said that Britney's recent partying and head-shaving is related to the death of her aunt Sandra Bridges Covington, whilst it has also been rumoured that Britney found her hair was so badly damaged from treatments that she found bald spots.

Britney's former boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, has commented on her new hairstyle, saying, "It was a smart choice, she is starting over, cleaning herself up. It was something you wouldn't expect most people to do, so she is taking a chance. She looks amazing, very GI-Jane, she can pull off anything."

Britney's mother, Lynne Spears, has flown to be with Britney, and has been seen by paparazzi, who asked her how Britney was; she responded that Britney is 'fine' and gave a thumbs up to the photographers.

According to reports, Larry Rudolph, Britney's manager, has made the following statement, "Britney has been through a tragic thing that hopefully will never happen again, shaving her hair was a sort of therapeutic thing for her. Britney knows that she needs help and is already going through councelling, she knows what needs to be done and is slowly re-building herself step by step."

Kelly Clarkson got a shock when she was shown Britney's new hairstyle, saying: "OK, are y'all kidding? Somebody just told me that out there, and I think that's a joke. Wow. Hey, Sinead O'Connor. Right on. She's bringing it back. She's Britney Spears. She can do whatever she wants. It will end up being cool. Somebody will start shaving their head; everybody will." On being shown a picture, she said, "Well, she's still hot. So whatever. If you can pull that off, go for it. I like my hair, so I'm keeping it... That's crazy."

According to new reports, Britney has been admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, following her evening visit to the salon where she shaved off all of her hair before getting two new tattoos - a black, white and pink cross on her hip and red and pink lips on her wrist. Britney was apparently admitted with a friend, spoke to doctors, wearing a dark wig, but was allowed to go home. There is speculation that Britney shaved her head to raise awareness for a cancer charity who helped her aunt, prior to her recent death, as well as speculation that she did it purely because of tight and uncomfortable hair extensions.

 
Britney went to a hair salon on Ventura Blvd in the San Fernando Valley last night at 7pm, and shaved her head, using equipment at the salon. According to X17Online, she was crying in the car for ten minutes before she went inside, returning bald half an hour later, when she went to the Body & Soul Tattoo parlour and had a new tattoo or piercing on her abdomen. Before entering the tattoo parlour, she told the paparazzi, "Go f*** yourself... because of you, I know your face... who are you?" A salon employee said, "She just looked in the mirror and said with tears in her eyes, 'Oh, my God, I shaved it all off. My mum is going to be so upset with me'," adding that Britney complained that her extensions were 'very tight and uncomfortable'. "We have no idea how she found us. She just walked in and said she wanted to shave her head. The owner has been in the business for 30 years and said, 'I'm not doing that'. But Britney was set on having her head shaved so she started doing it herself. I don't know what's going on in her head, but she obviously is not very happy deep down. She didn't say if she liked it or not, but she thought it would make her happy." During the one-hour visit, the tattoo parlour employee asked Britney about her new hairdo; she said, "I don't want anyone touching me. I'm tired of everyone touching me." Britney also explained she had "spilled Nyquil all over [her white handbag]."

"People" magazine reports Britney checked herself in and abruptly out of rehab, "two or three days ago," booking in at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Centre in Antigua, before leaving after just one day and heading to Florida, where she was seen on a plane with her two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James. On Friday, "OK!" magazine's Rob Shuter told "Extra," "People are speculating that the force behind [Felicia's] letter may in fact be Britney's mother reaching out to Britney." Britney's publicist, Gina Orr, would not deny or confirm whether or not she had gone into rehab, saying: "We will not be commenting on her personal life."

Felicia Culotta, Britney's former personal assistant and family friend, reportedly sent the following to a blog site: "Britney doesn't have a Publicist for me to clear this through first, so it will come directly from my heart to you! I am home in Mississippi - I am now a trained Corporate Flight Attendant and fly with a tiny jet company out of Georgia. I am also a substitute Preschool Teacher at the Church Preschool in my town. I LOVED being with Britney for the past 10 years. I cherish ALL the incredible opportunities that came my way through my job with Britney and am crushed/saddened/heartsick by the way her life is unfolding. We are doing EVERYTHING in our power to get help for Britney and all in our power to NOT pad the bottom, so when she does indeed hit rock bottom, she'll stand up and walk away from this whole fiasco a new, confident, changed, career-driven Britney like we all loved. There's just so much you can do to help a person - I don't dare want to be an enabler, and I cannot love her enough for the both of us. I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself. All I can do is be a friend, someone that loved her for MANY years unconditionally, and PRAY. That, I have decided is the most and best I can do for my friend. I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will. I am throwing my hands up and realising that I am helpless."

Isaac Cohen, has sold his story to the "News Of The World" tabloid newspaper, exploiting his time with Britney, saying, "By the time I met Britney she was burnt out. She knew she had been drinking and partying as a way to try to banish the bad stuff from her life. Far from the trashy drunk, I saw a very shy, sweet girl who was just desperately sad about what had happened with her marriage. Yes she enjoyed Jack Daniel's but she was trying not to get in the state she had been in with Paris. Her boys mean everything to her and she worried she might lose them in a custody battle. It was clear she was not over her marriage. The first time she invited me to her home I saw her wedding dress hung on the wall in a glass box. As we made love that night it was like Kevin was in bed beside us. She had not even begun to move on with her life. She would lie like a limp rag doll in my arms and and say, 'Why can't everyone leave me alone?' and, 'What have I done to deserve this?' As far as I was concerned she was gorgeous, but she had such low self esteem; she would say, 'Am I fat? Am I fat?' then spend hours dancing around the house trying to burn off calories. Other times, she got so low she didn't care what she looked like. She could not care less some days if she went out of the house without brushing her hair or checking to see if her outfit matched. That's just where she was in her life. She had so much on her plate she had precious little time to worry about how she looked. It was around that time her aunt died and that totally devastated her. It was yet another blow. It was me she turned to for comfort and I went to Louisiana for the funeral. It was far too soon for her to get involved in a relationship with anyone, but she has coped with so much in her life I hope she does not give up now. She is too special for that."

Britney played four new tracks from her forthcoming album to the audience at the Tenjune Club, asking the resident DJ, DJ Berrie, to put them on to gauge a reaction. DJ Berrie said the tracks were "new wave hip-hop" club songs, "think Timbaland or the Neptunes productions." He added that "the audience knew it was Britney and were dancing" and that "they'll blow up!"

Dr. Luke - otherwise known as Lukasz Gottwald (famous for his work on tracks by Kelly Clarkson, The Veronicas & P!nk) has confirmed to "Us Weekly" that he has worked on a 'feel-good, upbeat' track called "All The Way" with Britney for her 5th album.

JC Chasez, who supported Britney on the European leg of her Onyx Hotel tour in 2004, defended her when a DJ criticised her on US radio, saying, "She still is the sweetest; she's got a great heart. She's going through something very difficult right now. I don't care who you are, divorces are never easy, especially with two children involved. And the fact of the matter is I know plenty of 25-year-olds and 26-year-olds who are going out every night and she's not even going out every night! And for the last two years, she hasn't been able to do anything because she's had two kids within the past two years. So, you're talking about somebody who's 25 now who has not really left their house, really, and hasn't had any kind of freedom or liberties in the last two years. She's given a lot of people in this world a reason to be happy with her music, more than most people. She's already lived a fulfilling life."

 
Britney attended the Baby Phat fashion show in NYC, part of the Mercedes-Benz fashion week of fall 2007, applauding with the rest of the crowd when model Alek Wek flaunted a colorful halter dress that dragged on the floor in the back but was a mini-dress in the front; "Oh my god," said Spears. She also told "People" magazine that single life is "awesome" and that the collection was "amazing." 14 photos of Britney arriving and sitting at the event have been added to the photo gallery!

Britney has been invited to perform at the world's largest ever humanitarian event ever, World Peace 1, which will be held on 11th August 2007, with a 24-hour broadcast to unite the world, being shown in 180 countries, reaching 3.5billion people.

Ne-Yo has reportedly written eight songs for Britney's new album, telling CBS news, "Britney's A&R people told me, 'No more songs about Kevin.' That's what they told me coming in the door. We don't need no songs about Kevin... just write Britney Spears songs' -.- they'll be songs about all the controversy, then, you know, aside from all that, they'll be just regular quality songs. Songs about love, songs about hate, songs about whatever."
