Court Hearing Held For Britney's Conservatorship

The conservatorship in place over Britney Spears and her estate is still in place following a court hearing today, which was attended by Britney's lawyers, but skipped by both Britney and her father, Jamie. The commissioner, Reva Goetz, said, "It's my understanding that Britney's condition is somewhat tenuous. Her medical condition remains the same. The diagnosis is not complete, though there have been changes in her medication. The timing of the remaining proceedings is something we need to address following additional testing." Samuel Ingham, Britney's lawyer, agreed that allowing Britney to actively participate could be harmful to her; the court will be updated on 17th June.
Britney To Be Involved In More TV Projects

Britney Spears has met with Roy Bank, president of Merv Griffin Entertainment, to discuss several TV projects, in which Britney would star and possibly produce, according to reports today. Both Britney and Roy Bank are represented by the William Morris Agency, which packages many TV shows; one of the projects discussed was reportedly a music-based show, whilst other projects discussed included a potential sitcom, similar to Reba McEntire's "Reba."
UK Chart Update: "Break The Ice" At #43

The third single from "Blackout," "Break The Ice" falls to #43 in this week's official UK top 75 singles chart, with "Piece Of Me" still charting falling one spot to #71. "Blackout" falls two spots to #53 in the official albums chart this week.
Britney Attends Christian Audigier's 50th Birthday Party

Britney Spears, accompanied by her father, Jamie Spears, attened the 50th birthday party of Christian Audigier last night at the Los Angeles Petersen Automotive Museum, hanging around with two girlfriends in a closed VIP section. Britney stayed about an hour and a half, smoking outside, enjoying a live performance from Macy Gray, and abstaining from alcohol. Audigier told "People" magazine that he is friends with Britney, saying she loved his T-shirts and caps.
Sean Garrett & J.R. Rotem Confirm New Album

Sean Garrett (co-writer of "Toy Soldier") and Jonathan 'J.R.' Rotem (writer and producer of "Everybody") have confirmed to "People" magazine that Britney Spears is working on her sixth studio album; at the BMI awards, Rotem said, "She's great. She's like a master at what she does. She's a lot more experienced than most people. She just has the 'it' factor that not every artist has. So it's always nice to work with her." Sean Garrett confirmed that he is also working with her on a few things, and said, "I'm just happy to see her back and recovering. She's really shaping up and getting her whole situation back together. I'm really proud and happy to see her."
Britney Returns From Holiday & Goes For Dinner

Britney Spears returned from her holiday in Costa Rica with Mel Gibson, and attended a dinner meeting at Il Sole in LA, where she met George Maloof, owner of the Palms Hotel in Vegas, amidst rumours she is set to make her comeback to the music industry through a series of small, lowkey performances at the hotel later in the year.
Britney To Return Home For Custody Meeting

According to "OK!" magazine, Britney Spears will return home from her holiday in Costa Rica, where she is staying with Mel Gibson, her father, Jamie Spears, her assistant, Brett, and her TV agent, Jason Trawick, tomorrow, as she has a previously scheduled custody mediation meeting today, which she is expected to attend. Jamie Spears has now quit his job as a restauranteur in order to look after Britney's personal and professional affairs full-time.
UK Chart Update: "Break The Ice" At #38

The third single from "Blackout," "Break The Ice" falls to #38 in this week's official UK top 75 singles chart, with "Piece Of Me" still charting after over 20 weeks, at #70. "Blackout" falls to #51 in the official albums chart this week, and has sold around 230,000 copies in the UK so far, close to being certified Platinum (300,000).
Britney Goes On Holiday With Mel Gibson

After weeks of frequent training at the gym and recording sessions, Britney is going on vacation with her Mel Gibson and his wife, Robyn, following their recent dinner dates. Britney's father, Jamie, also boarded the private jet that was rented out for the trip to Costa Rica, where they will be staying for a few days to get away from Los Angeles.
"How I Met Your Mother" - "Everything Must Go"

Britney Spears made her second guest appearance on hit US comedy, "How I Met Your Mother," last night, appearing in the episode, "Everything Must Go" as Barney's pretend love interest, as a way to get back at Ted, who Abby fancied in Britney's first guest appearance on the show. Britney Recording Sixth Studio Album

A report in "The Sun" newspaper states that Britney Spears is currently in the studio recording for her sixth studio album for release near Christmas this year, up against a high profile comeback from Whitney Houston, and now Bloodshy has confirmed to fans on MySpace that she is, indeed, working on a new studio album, hence her singing lessons and regular visits to the recording studio each day. A source told "The Sun," that the demos so far are 'impressive' and that 'Britney has been on fire in the studio of late. She is determined to make a triumphant comeback.'
"Radar" To Be Fourth Single From "Blackout"

"Radar" will be the fourth single from Britney's fifth album, "Blackout," hitting stores in July 2008, with a video to precede it in June; it is as yet unknown if Britney will appear in person or if the video will be an animated sequel to "Break The Ice." The song was recorded in late 2006, and The Clutch, who co-wrote the song with Bloodshy & Avant, said, "Honestly, I know me personally, I’ve wanted to work with Britney Spears forever to be honest. So honestly, I don’t think for any of us it was hard. I think we all wanted to work with Britney and we were motivated to give her something that was great that was going to help her project become a great project to come back with. We went in and sat down to create a record for the Britney Spears that we know and love."
Court Hearing: Britney To Receive Increased Visitation

For the first time since October, Britney Spears arrived in court regarding her on-going custody battle with ex-husband, Kevin Federline, resulting in an increase in the amount of visitation she can have with her two children, Jayden James and Sean Preston. According to reports, Britney left the court with her parents and attorney, smiling and happy, with Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, once again talking to the press, saying, Kevin's "goal is his children will have the benefit of two parents participating actively in their lives; we are pleased with the progress that seems to be occurring. I think the children are doing really great, and that is the key question." Allan Parachini, a representative for Jamie & Lynne Spears, said, "We are so pleased with Britney's progress and we are very appreciative of the courts recognition of this progress. There was a modification of the pre-existing custody order. There will be a progress report on 15th July, and another court hearing sometime in August."
Britney Attends Alicia Keys Concert With Parents

Jamie and Lynne Spears attended the Alicia Keys concert in LA last night, with Britney, ahead of an appearance in court tomorrow, where she will fight for custody of her two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Britney arrived at the Staples Center in the evening, with Lynne, her assistant, and two bodyguards; her father arrived separately, all three missing opening act, Ne-Yo, who wrote a song called "Impossible" for Britney, but staying for the entire Alicia Keys show.

Britney Heads Home To Kentwood For Baby Shower

Britney has headed home to Kentwood, Louisana, for her sixteen year old sister, Jamie Lynn's, baby shower. The shower is being held at Serenity, the house Britney owns in the state, and where here mother, Lynne, spends a lot of time.
