Larry Rudolph confirms Piece of Me is ending

Britney Spears is ending her Piece of Me residency at Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood on 31st December, as her contract with Caesars Entertainment expires, her manager Larry Rudolph said today.

Rudolph said her next venue “could be conceivably anywhere, we could have it at the needle on the top of the Stratosphere, and do the bungee jump afterward.”

“We are done with this show, and our next move is undecided. We are still talking with Caesars Entertainment and other interested parties in Las Vegas.”

But that does not mean Brit is finished in Vegas; other venues, including The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Park Theater and The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel are all in play.

“Anything is possible. We have made zero decisions. We expect a lot of interest from all parties. Britney basically sells out every show, and she loves Las Vegas, she loves performing in Vegas, and Vegas is a possibility going forward.

“She might tour, she might work on a new album. It’s too early to talk specifics about anything.”

Israel’s Labour Party postpones election due to Britney concert

The Labour Party Israel has rescheduled one of their party elections because it clashes with Britney’s concert in Tel Aviv. Britney is performing in Hayarkon Park, for the first time ever in Israel, on 3rd July; the event has been deemed so important that the Labour Party, which was due to vote for its new leader on that day, has ended up changing the date.

A party spokesperson told the Times of Israel that, because of the concert, there had been ‘a difficulty in recruiting security guards’ for the election and that moving the date of the primaries would ‘make it easier for people to reach polling stations’. Their statement said: ‘The election date was delayed by one day due to the fact that there is a major event at Hayarkon Park on July 3, 2017.’

Maddie is ‘awake and talking’

Britney’s niece, Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter, Maddie, is ‘awake and talking’ after nearly drowning, according to a statement from the the Spears family representatives.

“With her father, mother and stepfather by her side, Maddie regained consciousness mid-day Tuesday, February 7. The 8-year-old daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears was involved in an ATV accident at a family home Sunday in Kentwood, La. Paramedics resuscitated her and she was airlifted to a local hospital. She is aware of her surroundings and recognizes those family members who have kept a round-the-clock vigil since the accident. Doctors were able to remove the ventilator today and she is awake and talking. Maddie continues to receive oxygen and is being monitored closely but it appears that she has not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident.”

The police report said that on Sunday, Maddie was driving an ATV within view of Jamie Lynn and her husband Jamie Watson when she took a hard right to avoid running over a nearby drainage ditch, causing the vehicle to enter the pond on the property. Within seconds Jamie Lynn, Jamie and other family members reached the pond, dove in and attempted to rescue the child to no avail, as Maddie was trapped and secured by the seatbelt and the ATV’s safety netting. Within two minutes, Acadian Ambulance Services arrived and assisted in freeing her from the cold waters.

“Rolling Stone” pick “Glory” as 5th best pop album of 2016

“Rolling Stone” magazine have named “Glory” the 5th best pop album of 2016, just behind the Monkees, Tove Lo, Rihanna and the 1975.

On “Glory,” they said: “After 2013’s more personal, though often tepid, Britney Jean, Britney Spears’ Glory felt like a breath of fresh electro-pop air. A star-studded array of pop’s strongest producers and writers – including Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, Cashmere Cat, BloodPop and more – helped elevate the LP to the levels of dance perfection seen on 2007’s Blackout. Single “Make Me” allows Spears to thrive at her coo-iest, and she shines as a Eurotrash sex robot on the electric “Do You Wanna Come Over?” Even the softer moments like the sweeping “Just Luv Me” and the whisper-y “Better” have Spears at her liveliest in years.”

Britney talks to ‘Vegas Player’ about Piece of Me and more

It’s roughly one hour before Britney Spears will take the stage for another performance of her hit Las Vegas show, Britney: Piece of Me, when she smiles and leaps out of a chair. Hair and makeup complete, Britney’s ready. But first, the pop star makes a beeline to a small area backstage where she meets with anywhere from two to three dozen eager fans. As she poses for pictures and greets each of them, another sellout crowd is making its way into The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Photos complete, she runs back to her green room to dress for her opening number, Work Bitch.

It all happens in what seems like a flash. For Britney, it’s a routine she’s perfected over the past couple years. In fact, when it comes to green-room demands, Britney is rather easy. The girl from Kentwood, Louisiana simply requires some sweet iced tea, a few candles (she says they calm her nerves) and a CD player. “Yes, I still use CDs,” she admits, then adds. “Believe it or not, I still do get a bit nervous before I go onstage. But once the show starts and I hear the roar of the crowd, I’m totally energized.”

Now entering its third year, Britney: Piece of Me, has become one of the city’s top-selling, and most talked about, shows. “Vegas has really been a fabulous experience for me. I say it all the time, it’s become like a second home,” Britney explains. “I love everything about it.”

That includes dinners at MR CHOW, hitting the shops and lounging by the pool. She’s learned to make Las Vegas home.
