Britney’s second album to be released in May

Britney has announced that her eagerly awaited second album will be released on 15th May 2000 and 16th May 2000 in the USA. Britney has been working on the album with Max Martin, Shania Twain and Robert “Mutt” Lange; she will kick off her latest tour in the USA on 8th March in Pensacola, Florida where she is expected to perform some of her new songs.

Britney to tour USA with LFO

Britney and LFO will take part in a month-long tour of the USA taking in 25 dates starting in Florida on 8th March. The dates are as follows:

– 3/8 Pensacola, Fla., Pensacola, Civic Center.
– 3/11 Little Rock, Ark., Alltell Arena.
– 3/12 Memphis, Tenn., The Pyramid.
– 3/13 Louisville, Ky., Freedom Hall.
– 3/14 Evansville, Ind., Roberts Stadium.
– 3/16 Cincinnati, Firstar Center.
– 3/19 Grand Rapids, Mich., Van Andel Arena.
– 3/20 Detroit, Palace of Auburn Hills.
– 3/21 Madison, Wis., Kohl Center.
– 3/22 Moline, Ill., Mark of the Quad Cities.
– 3/23 Chicago, Rosemont Horizon.
– 3/25 Worcester, Mass., Worcester Centrum.
– 3/26 Baltimore, Baltimore Arena.

“…Baby One More Time” ranks #5 in Record Of The Year 1999

Britney’s huge-selling debut single, “…Baby One More Time,” came fifth in ITV’s Record Of The Year 1999, voted for by TV viewers. Britney performed the track on the show, and scored over 75,000 phone votes, coming behind Westlife and Ronan Keating.

Britney wins Smash Hits! awards

Britney has been awarded Best Female Artist of 1999, and Most Fanciable Female at the Smash Hits! Poll Winners Party held today in London, presented by Stephen Gately from Boyzone and Melanie Sykes. Britney performed “…Baby One More Time” and was presented with the awards after by H from Steps, her Jive Records labelmates who she recently toured with across the USA.
