“Stronger” out now in the UK

“Stronger” is out now in the UK on CD and cassette, featuring the UK exclusive remix by W.I.P. who are most widely known for remixing Britney’s label mates, Steps. The releases also feature an exclusive non-album track entitled “Walk On By.” HMV stores nationwide have recently been stocking the European and Australian releases, both of which include alternative tracks, including the US remix by Miguel Miggs and the instrumental.

“Stronger” to be released on 4th December

Following the success of “Lucky,” Britney will be unleashing her third single “Stronger” whilst she is in Europe on her sold-out “Oops!… I Did It Again” world tour. The single will be released on 4th December and will feature another exclusive non-album track, entitled “Walk On By.” The UK release will be different to the European and Australian releases and will include an exclusive remix of the track by W.I.P.

Britney kicks off debut European tour

Britney kicks off her debut European tour tonight in London, performing the first in a string of sold-out shows as part of her the “Oops!… I Did It Again” world tour. The set-list is expected to be the same as from the North American leg, featuring the hits from “…Baby One More Time” and tracks from her latest album, alongside a video quiz hosted by *NSync.

Birmingham dates to be rescheduled

The two Birmingham dates of Britney’s forthcoming debut UK tour have been rescheduled. Britney was due to play the NEC on 7th and 8th October, however the concerts have been postponed because of technical difficulties. The tour will now hit Birmingham on 20th and 21st November; tickets for the shows are still valid, however full refunds are available if you cannot make the new dates.

Sky One to air “Oops!… I Did It Again” show

Sky One has announced plans to record and air Britney’s show from the London Arena Docklands on 15th and 16th November 2000. The shows will be recorded and edited and screened at the end of November on Sky One.

“Oops!… I Did It Again” Special UK Edition announced

A Special UK Edition of “Oops!… I Did It Again” will be released on 9th October 2000 as a thank you to Britney’s British fans. As well as the 13 songs which feature on the worldwide album, the latest version will include two brand new tracks, “Heart” and “You Got It All,” both of which were featured on the Australian and Japanese releases of the album. In addition, the album will be enhanced with the video for “Lucky” video, a fact file of facts and pictures, a Britney screen saver, a scramble puzzle and more.

“Lucky” released on 14th August

The second single from Britney’s second album will be “Lucky,” released on CD and cassette in the UK, with both formats featuring a new exclusive song that didn’t make the album, entitled “Heart.” The single will be released on 14th August 2000.

“Oops!… I Did It Again” enters at #2 in the UK

Despite being at #1 all week in the UK sales flashes, Britney’s second album has debuted at #2 in the official UK top 75 albums chart, held off the top spot by the greatest hits release from Whitney Houston. Whitney and Britney were both neck and neck for the spot during the week, with Britney leading the way, however, Whitney’s release saw an increase in sales on Saturday.

“Oops!… I Did It Again” to break records in the USA

Britney Spears’ second album, “Oops!…I Did It Again,” sold more than 500,000 copies on its first day of release in the USA and means she is poised to break the SoundScan record for highest sales in a week by a solo female artist. Mariah Carey’s 1995 Columbia album “Daydream” currently holds the record of 760,000 units. Current estimations suggest the album will sell over a million copies this week; it is also looking likely that the album will hit #1 in the UK, giving Britney her first UK #1 album.

“Oops!… I Did It Again” out now!

Britney’s second album, titled after the UK #1 single, is out now in the UK! “Oops!… I Did It Again” features all-new material, including the track she premiered on tour earlier this year, “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know,” which was written by Shania Twain and her husband. Woolworths also have a UK exclusive poster, if you purchase the album in one of their stores nationwide!

Britney working with Shania Twain

Britney Spears is recording a song on her new album with country sensation Shania Twain for her new album, which is due to be released later this year. The song is due to be a ballad, and sees Shania join a team of songwriters including Diane Warren, Max Martin and Rami in collaborating with Britney for the album.
