Britney commences work on debut film project

Britney has begun filming her big screen debut, wrapping some of the first scenes in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Hammond, near to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. The film, which has a working title of “What Are Friends For,” according to the Commission, stars Britney as a model student who reunites with two former friends on a cross-country road trip. Along the way, they meet a would-be musician who persuades them to go to Los Angeles to compete in a musical contest.

Tamra Davis is directing the movie, which has a $10 million budget, relatively low by industry standards. Spokespeople for Britney have been tight-lipped about the project and would not reveal more details, including a potential release date.
