“Britney” tracklist revealed

Jive Recording artist Britney Spears will release her 3rd album, “Britney” on 5th November. The first single, “I’m A Slave 4 U,” written and produced by The Neptunes, will impact radio stations worldwide on 24th September. The video, directed by Frances Lawrence, will debut on MTV’s Making The Video in the USA on the same day. Britney  co-wrote 5 of the 12 songs on the album, alongside writers including Max Martin, Justin Timberlake, Wade Robson, Rami and Rodney Jerkins.

Britney cancels worldwide promotional trip

Due to the terrorist attacks that happened on 11th September, Britney has cancelled her plans to visit Europe and the UK this week to promote her forthcoming third album. Instead, Britney will stay in Australia, which was first on her list of destinations to promote in, and record interviews and performances for international TV shows from Sydney.

Britney’s third album to be self-titled

Britney’s forthcoming third album, to be released in the UK on 5th November 2001, will be simply titled, “Britney.” The tracklist for the album is due to be released by Jive Records in the next few weeks.

Britney signs contract with games company

Britney has signed a contract with THQ to release her own games for Playstation 2, Game Boy Advance and PC. Larry Rudolph, Britney’s co-manager said “Britney’s move into interactive entertainment is a natural extension for the Britney brand.”

“Since the 1999 release of her Baby One More Time album, Britney Spears has become a pop culture icon whose talent and style are coveted across the globe. We are delighted to be working with Britney Brands in bringing one of the biggest names in entertainment to the PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance and PC,” said Jeff Lapin, vice chairman of THQ.

Britney premieres “I’m A Slave 4 U” at MTV Video Music Awards

Britney has premiered “I’m A Slave 4 U,” the first single to be taken from her forthcoming third album at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards in the USA. Performing live on stage with a boa constrictor snake, Britney brought the jungle inside for the show. The track is due to be released on CD in the UK in October.
