A few weeks ago, Britney was spotted holding a Jive Records labelled CD-R acetate, containing tracks recorded for her new album; a close-up photo of this CD reveals it to include the “Not Final” tag line, found on most internal CD-R acetates, the date 11/14/06. The CD contains 17 track titles and the names of writers/producers, which includes Sean Garrett, Steve Anderson (who co-wrote “Breathe On Me”), Kara DioGuardi (who co-wrote “Brave New Girl”), and what looks like “Lil’ Jon.”
J. Que of songwriting and production team, The Crutch (which consists of Balewa Muhammad, Keri Lynn Hilson, Ezekiel Lewis, J. Que & Candice Nelson) has announced they have recorded two songs with Britney for her forthcoming comeback album, saying “I’m just getting back in town from cutting two records with Britney. Yeah, it was funny because she was on the cover of the NY Post or something like that, coming to the studio. So she was coming up there to cut with us, so that’s what we were working on.” The Clutch have recently worked with Pussycat Dolls and Danity Kane, as well as “Take Me As I Am” with Mary J. Blige and “Red Light” with Usher.
Mary J. Blige has defended Britney Spears over her recent partying, since her split from husband Kevin Federline, saying: “I know that at some point in our lives we’ve had a situation like Britney’s, meaning that we all were with someone we thought loved us and actually didn’t. We make mistakes. I’m looking at Britney as a human just like myself. I messed up big time in my life. I love Britney and I send out all of my prayers and all great energy to her because she’s young and she is going through it. She is going to get through. She is going to come out on the other side real nice I think.”
Britney was seen shopping for CDs, sporting new dark blonde hair, a change from the black hair she has been sporting in the last few days, before heading out to Club Element; pictures of her night out are available here! Britney purchased the DualDisc edition of her album, “In The Zone,” saying to photographers, “I wanna have fun with my fans!” endorsing, a group of Britney fans who are aiming to get “In The Zone” back on Billboard charts.
Britney’s fourth fragrance line will be a shoot-off from her highly successful Fantasy range, entitled Midnight Fantasy, packaged in the same shape and style as the original Fantasy, but in midnight blue. The scent is described as “fruit and floral, with hints of black cherries, plum, orchid and freesia with base notes of musk and amber.” It is due to be launched in the United States in January 2007, with the UK launch following a few months later in April.
Britney has posted a new message on her web site, following photographs of her partying with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, where she was seen getting into a car without wearing knickers.
“It’s been so long since I’ve been out on the town with friends. It’s also been 2 years since I’ve even celebrated my birthday. Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far. Anyway, thank God for Victoria’s Secrets’ new underwear line! I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me. I’m just getting started… Happy Holidays everyone! Britney”
“Star” magazine reports that Britney is on the verge of negotiating a 20- week, $15 million exclusive performance contract with the Maloof brothers (she has been photographed with George J. Maloof, who hosted her evening out with Paris Hilton, and who was “instrumental” in getting her first marriage annulled) for a Las Vegas residency.
“People” magazine reports that Britney Spears has been working in Las Vegas with Dr. Luke – otherwise known as Lukasz Gottwald (famous for his work on tracks by Kelly Clarkson, The Veronicas, Lady Sovereign, Paris Hilton & P!nk) – mixing tracks for her forthcoming fifth studio album. “Us Weekly” reports that the album could be out “as early as spring.”
Britney’s soon-to-be-ex-husband Kevin Federline left a message on the shower door of his dressing room after his gig at the House of Blues in Chicago, which was written the day after Britney filed for divorce.

According to reports, whilst Britney is in Miami, she will be working with Scott Storch on tracks for her 5th album, in addition to Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes. Storch is most well-known for his productions on Christina Aguilera’s “Stripped,” Beyonce’s “Dangerously In Love,” and most recently, Paris Hilton’s “Paris.” It is also reported that she is currently being “overseen” (as opposed to formally managed) by her former manager, Larry Rudolph.
Britney, who has been seen in and out of studios in Miami, New York and Los Angeles constantly, even working through the night, is to work with Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes again, after they produced “I’m A Slave 4 U” and “Boys” for her third album. At a Louis Vuitton party in New York City on Thursday night, the producer said, “The stuff I’m about to do is amazing, but I don’t like talking about what I’m about to do. OK, I’m going in with Britney.”
Kevin Federline was speaking to his lawyer about divorcing Britney Spears more than a month before she filed to dissolve their marriage, according to reports. Federline’s right to money is extremely limited because of the prenup agreement he was forced to sign prior to legally marrying Britney; it is believed he will receive 20% of the value of the couple’s Malibu estate, valued at approximately $10million, and spousal support for one year (estimated at less than $250,000). By contesting Britney for custody of their children, it seems Federline is hoping he will be paid off to end the legal battle or get child support; an unlikely outcome, given her choice of divorce lawyer, the esteemed Laura Wasser.
Britney has been seen in and out of studios in New York and Miami, recording tracks to be considered for her fifth studio album, due to be released sometime in 2007. According to a brief sent out by Jive Records to songwriters across the globe, they are looking for “next level pop, urban-flavoured beats with electronica synths.”
Kevin Federline has responded to Britney’s petition to dissolve their partnership, asking for legal and physical custody of the couple’s children, with visitation rights for Britney. The response, filed on Wednesday by Mark Kaplan, also shows Federline is asking the court to award him spousal support.
“Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to do what he feels is necessary to protect and safeguard the children and will not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuit of those goals,” said Michael Sands, spokesman for Federline’s attorney. Hours before Spears’ attorney, Laura Wassey, filed the divorce papers, Federline was seen in Canada, getting a paparazzo to purchase him a $120 pair of trainers.
Just a day after filing legal papers to dissolve her marriage with Kevin Federline, Britney has been seen out and about, ice skating in New York City, accompanied by her former manager, Larry Rudolph, who helped steer Britney to global success. The pair separated professionally in 2004, when their contract expired, amid rumours he disliked Federline.
Britney Spears has filed legal papers to divorce her husband of two years, Kevin Federline, with whom she has two children, Jayden James and Sean Preston. Britney is citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for dissolving her marriage to Federline, and is asking for sole legal custody of the two children, with child visitation being granted to Federline, with legal fees to be shared between the couple.
Britney gives the date of separation as yesterday, the same day she made a surprise appearance on David Letterman’s show, and has hired powerhouse celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has represented Nick Lachey, Angelina Jolie and Kiefer Sutherland in the past. The date of marriage is listed as 6th October 2004, following the ceremony on 18th September.
Britney surprised David Letterman for the second time in a year by making an small, unexpected and unplanned guest appearance on “The Late Show,” sporting blonde hair, cut in a bob, and a stunning small black dress, to promote Will Ferrell’s appearance.

The birth certificate of Britney and Kevin’s second child has been uploaded online, revealing the name of their second son to be Jayden James Federline. The birth certificate was signed by Kevin Earl Federline on 13th September 2006, a day after the baby was born.
Britney has topped the UK “Hello” Magazine’s first ever list of the ‘100 Sexiest Women in the World’, beating the likes of Sienna Miller, Kate Beckinsale, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Mendes & Jessica Simpson. The men polled, all aged between 18 and 49, stated that it’s her past as a teen pop temptress, often draped in barely-there clothing, and her more recent Harper’s Bazaar naked-and-pregnant spread last June that has made her top choice.
The Guiness World Records association have put together a list of the most successful female acts of the century so far, based on the number of top 40 hits since the year 2000 in the UK, for their forthcoming new “British Hit Singles & Albums” book. Britney ranks second in the list with 15 hit singles, just behind Sugababes who currently have 16.
