Britney’s parents stage intervention

Jamie and Lynne Spears staged an ‘intervention’ at their daughter’s house last night, in a long night in which the police were called, with reports saying Sam Lufti denied Britney’s boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, entry to her house leaving her standing, crying, outside and being given a ride by an X17 photographer to a supermarket and back.

Lufti had, only hours before, announced she was seeking psychological treatment; reports say Britney was seen arguing with him. Sources close to the Spears family are increasingly unhappy with the influence Lufti is having on Britney, and are reportedly even more annoyed that, during the ‘intervention’, he encouraged her to visit a Mercedes garage, albeit accompanied by her mother.

Alli told “Us Weekly”: “I don’t know him. I only know who he is through him following us for the last eight months. I do not think Adnan is a good person; I think he only has bad intentions. He has always given me a weird feeling and creeped me out. I wish he would just go away. I was with her for eight months pretty much every day and never witnessed anything like [drugs] – and I lived there.” On her two children, Alli says that Britney ‘adores’ her two children, adding, “I wish people would give her a break and lay off her.”

Britney expected to attend custody hearing

Britney is expected to turn up for her custody hearing on Monday, regarding the amount of time she can spend with her two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James. According to reports, although she is not required to turn up legally, she is expected to face the judge herself to explain herself, in light of eyewitness accounts from LAPD, firefighters and paramedics, present at the scene on Thursday night, being used in court.

A source close to Britney’s attorney anticipates that a visitation schedule will be issued, consisting of a few short, monitored visits per week, as the children are so young, and it will deemed inappropriate to keep them away from their mother for such a long period of time. If the court does decide to remove all visitation rights, the next hearing will be a full ‘final’ hearing held in April 2008, when a child custody evaluator will make recommendations to the court, but until the children are 18, custody arrangements will be ever modifiable.
