Britney collected the Fragrance of the Year award for her Fantasy in Bloom perfume at the Hollywood Beauty Awards.
Revlon’s EVP of Global Fragrances, Ron Rolleston, presented Spears with the award.
Britney said: “I adore Ron. He’s like my grandfather. I just friggin’ love him. I want to thank Ron and the team at Revlon. It’s always great working with you to bring our ideas, like Fantasy in Bloom, and all our fragrances to life. When I was getting ready this evening, my sons were like, ‘Mom, are you going to the Oscars?’ I said, ‘Well, it’s kind of like the Oscars, and I won the biggest award there.’ They were jumping up and down, and I felt really proud—but they were just ready to get my ass out of the house!
“Anyways, I also want to thank the Hollywood Beauty Awards for this amazing honour; thank you so much and I am so excited to be working with you on all the new projects. HBA, shall I tell my sons we have a date for this time next year?”
Britney’s fragrances have been raking in hundreds of millions of dollars over the last 14 years, despite her dwindling presence in the top 10.
Britney will attend the 29th annual GLAAD Media Awards in April and receive the GLAAD Vanguard Award, which is presented to media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people.
Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of GLAAD, said: “An irrefutable icon, Britney Spears has entertained the world while also embodying the spirit of GLAAD’s Vanguard Award by speaking out on significant issues that face her fans – from the Dream Act to anti-transgender bills in Texas. She is a force in the music world who has used her global platform to share messages of love and acceptance, something that the world needs today more than ever.”
Britney said: “Honored to be receiving the Vanguard Award at the @GLAAD Media Awards this year! The LGBTQ community means the absolute world to me and inspires me every day. I am proud to be an ally and I will continue to support equality and acceptance for all!! ???????????? #GLAADAwards”.
Britney has added a second show at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, following the success of the first show. Britney will now play at the arena on 28 and 29 August 2018; tickets for the new show go on sale on 14 February.
Britney’s Piece of Me tour has sold out the UK and Europe dates so far, leading to more dates being announced today. She has also added a date at the Genting Arena, Birmingham on 31 August, a third date at the O2 Arena in London on 26 August, and a date at the Accordhotels Arena in Paris on 28 August.
